Leonardo DiCaprio donated $61,000 at GLAAD Media Awards

Leonardo DiCaprio showed his generous side by handing over $61,000 (£38,000) to the Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) at the organisation’s Media Awards on Saturday (20Apr13). The Titanic star attended the Los Angeles event to honour lawyer Steve Warren, but he also supported the gay rights group by donating $25,000 (£16,000) during a pledge drive conducted by actor Wilson Cruz.
During the evening’s auction, DiCaprio placed the winning bid of $22,000 (£13,750) for an African holiday package, which included two plane tickets and a four-night stay at the Four Seasons Safari Lodge Serengeti.
He also splashed out an additional $14,000 (£8,750) for a photo of blonde bombshell Marilyn Monroe, reports EOnline.com.
