Comedienne Leslie Jones is upset no top designers want to dress her for the upcoming Ghostbusters premiere.
The larger-than-life Saturday Night Live regular has taken to Twitter to let followers know she is currently dress-less for the big 9 July (16) screening of the blockbuster, in which she stars.
“It’s so funny how there are no designers wanting to help me with a premiere dress for movie,” she wrote on Tuesday (28Jun16). “Hmmm that will change and I remember everything.”
Her tweet did the trick – minutes after it was posted designer Christian Siriano offered to help, retweeting Jones’ message and adding a raised hand emoji to indicate he may be interested in styling her.
Ironically, Leslie’s Ghostbusters co-star Melissa McCarthy struggled to find a designer to dress her for the Oscars in 2012.
In a 2014 Redbook interview she said, “Two Oscars ago, I couldn’t find anybody to do a dress for me. I asked five or six designers – very high-level ones who make lots of dresses for people – and they all said no.”
The snub inspired Melissa to start her own plus-size, Seven7, which she launched last year (15).
