Liam Gallagher loses support act for U.K. tour

Liam Gallagher’s support act Slowthai has pulled out of the rocker’s upcoming U.K. tour.
The grime MC was an unusual choice to warm up crowds for the former Oasis frontman, but Liam booked the rapper after he was introduced to his music by his teenage sons Gene and Lennon.
However, on Friday (23Aug19), the Wall of Glass hitmaker announced slowthai, real name, Tyron Kaymone Frampton, had pulled out of the jaunt, but wished the rapper well on his own upcoming U.S. tour.
“Listen up all you boppers out there in the big city all you street people with an ear for the action slowthai has pulled out of the UK Tour Gutted
I still love ya homeboy good luck in the USA LG,” Liam wrote, before telling fans a replacement act will be announced “soon”.
Liam’s original choice to take slowthai on the trek didn’t go down well with some of his fans, who wanted fellow Britpop legend Richard Ashcroft as a support act.
However, the hip-hop musician vowed to prove them wrong by turning them on to other music besides rock.
“I’m ready to just get on it,” he told Sky News about the gig. “We’re going to hit it. I’m going to show all these people who want to hear (Ashcroft’s band The Verve’s track) Bittersweet Symphony who I am. They’re going to know who I am.”
Liam’s tour gets underway in Cardiff on 11 November (19).
