Liam Payne working with Louis Tomlinson on mystery project

Liam Payne is working with his old One Direction bandmate Louis Tomlinson on a mystery project.

The boyband went on hiatus at the beginning of 2016 to pursue solo careers, but Liam is keen on a reunion – and has already been talking to Louis about collaborating.

Speaking to the BBC at the BMI London Awards on Monday (1Oct18), he said that he was “definitely” up for reuniting at some stage, before cryptically teasing: “I saw Louis (Tomlinson) recently for something that I cannot say.”

The Strip That Down hitmaker, 25, has been working on his new solo album, a record that was due to be released last month, but was delayed in the wake of his split from British popstar Cheryl. Louis meanwhile, has just started a stint as a judge on Simon Cowell’s TV talent search, The X Factor U.K.
Liam went on to say that he’d been in touch with two other bandmates, Niall Horan and Harry Styles and that a reunion could be on the horizon.

“I’ve been in touch with Niall and Harry a little bit,” he added. “I think it would be nice if we could get back together, but we’ll see. In time. All in good time.”

The singer previously told U.S. breakfast news show Good Morning America that he would be up for reuniting the band – but feels it is important he and the rest of One Direction enjoy solo success first.
“The more success we have on our own, the more success we’re gonna have together in the future,” he said.

The pressure is on the musician to deliver hits on his new record, as all of the four tracks from First Time, an EP he put out in lieu of his delayed solo album, failed to chart in the U.K.
