Liev Schreiber: ‘Naomi Watts and I will stay close despite our split’

Actor Liev Schreiber is scared about the transition he is going through following his split from longtime partner Naomi Watts, but he is confident the former couple will stay close.
The actors, who share sons Sasha, nine, and Samuel, seven, announced they had broken up in September (16).
Liev has not spoken about the split since the announcement, but he was recently asked how he is doing following the break-up, and insisted he was still on good terms with his ex, but the big change in his life is scary.
“We’re parents together so we’ll be together for the rest of our lives no matter what and we’re very close,” he told CBS This Morning on Thursday (01Dec16). “Hopefully, that never changes and I don’t think it will.”
Last month (Nov16), Naomi opened up about the split, insisting keeping the couple’s children happy remains her biggest priority.
“I feel I’m in a good place in my life and I want to make sure my kids are healthy, my kids are happy and things are going to go well. Those are my hopes for me and for all of us,” she told Australia’s Daily Telegraph.
“I feel, whether you’re famous or not, transitions are scary for anybody. I feel like change is always scary, but that’s only because transition for anyone is new and you wonder how things are going to go.”
However, she did admit she is having a difficult time planning how the fractured family is going to spend Christmas.
“I’m still figuring out Christmas plans for this year,” she said. “I obviously want to get back to Australia, but I’m currently working on a TV show, Gypsy, and I’ve only got a limited amount of time off.”
