Actor Liev Schreiber is set to play chess master Boris Spassky in a new movie. The Salt star will play boardgames with Tobey Maguire – as Bobby Fischer – in the drama Pawn Sacrifice, according to TheWrap.com.
The movie will chronicle Fischer’s preparation for a fabled chess match against Spassky. Peter Sarsgaard is reportedly in talks to play a priest who Fischer confides in.
A release date has not been set for Pawn Sacrifice, but Ed Zwick will direct the project and Maguire will serve as a producer.
