Lifetime, spurred by a 12 percent jump in viewership from a year ago, led a logjam among the top five rated cable networks with a rating of 1.9 in cable homes, Nielsen reported. USA slipped to second at 1.8. USA was down from last year’s same quarter rating of 2.2, largely due to the loss of WWF programming which TNN outbid USA for earlier this year. TNT and the Cartoon Network tied for third at 1.7. TNT was down 11 percent from last year, while the Cartoon Network’s audience level remained flat. TBS rounds out the top five, at 1.6. TNN had the biggest jump of any cable station, rising 67 percent vs. the same quarter a year ago.
