Lil Wayne Officiated A Same-Sex Marriage Ceremony In Prison

Rapper Lil Wayne has revealed he officiated a same sex marriage ceremony while serving time behind bars back in 2010.

The Lollipop hitmaker agreed to oversee the nuptials for two inmates at New York’s notorious Rikers Island, while he was serving an eight-month sentence on weapons charges.

His jail-time journal is being turned into a memoir, titled Gone ‘Til November, and in one excerpt obtained by Page Six, the rap star talks about officiating the wedding ceremony and decorating the prison chapel with toilet paper and bottles of Gatorade.

“Gatorade is liquid gold in this b**ch,” Wayne writes about the energy drink. “Imagine seeing grown-a** men in jail hanging tissue for wedding decorations. AND one of them is Lil Wayne. Crazy.”

In his new book, Lil Wayne also lists the celebrity rappers who visited him while he was doing time, revealing Kanye West and Diddy made the trip to Rikers Island.

The book also details a tough conversation he had with pal Drake after learning the Canadian rapper had slept with one of his ex-girlfriends, while he was behind bars.

“Finding out that she f**ked Drake was the absolute worst thing I could have found out,” Wayne writes. “Drizzy (Drake) came to see me (and) he was like, ‘Yeah, it’s true’. D**n! This is the type of s**t a man never wants to find out while he is locked up.”

Gone ‘Til November is released on 11 October (16).

Lil Wayne was arrested in New York City following a performance at the Beacon Theatre in July, 2007 after New York City police officials discovered a pistol near his person. The gun, which was registered to his manager, was in a bag located near the rapper. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and marijuana.
