Lil Wayne wants to shut down Young Money label

Hip-hop star Lil Wayne has clashed with his former mentor Bryan ‘Birdman’ Williams over his desire to shut down his Young Money Entertainment record label.
The Lollipop hitmaker has been locked in a bitter lawsuit with Cash Money Records boss Birdman since early 2015, when he filed a $51 million (£38.6 million) lawsuit against his longtime label boss, amid allegations suggesting he is owed money for his long-delayed album, Tha Carter V.
Wayne has been demanding Birdman either pay up, or release him from his contract with Cash Money.
Now the rapper has taken issue with the way his subsidiary label, Young Money, is being handled, and wants a judge to help “appoint a receiver to supervise the operations” of the joint firm, or “order the termination” of the company and “appoint a liquidator”, reports TheBlast.com.
Birdman is objecting to the move, insisting Wayne has no right to dissolve the business while he is still under contract.
The two former friends launched Young Money together in 2003, and its roster still boasts top talent like Drake and Nicki Minaj.
