Lindsay Lohan has been granted permission to appeal her case against the bosses of video game Grand Theft Auto V.

The Mean Girls star sued bosses at Take-Two Games in 2014, claiming they based a character in Grand Theft Auto V on her without permission. She insisted that the Lacey Jonas character not only bore a resemblance to her but her story line linked to moments from her own life, film roles and even the Hollywood hotel where she once lived.

In March, 2016, a judge in New York initially ruled the lawsuit could proceed, because the video game bosses had not provided documentation to prove Jonas wasn’t based on Lohan. However, in September (16), officials at a New York state appeals court dismissed the suit.

Now Lohan has scored a legal break after a judge at the New York Court of Appeals, the state’s highest court, overruled the decision to toss the case, and granted the actress an opportunity to challenge the decision, according to the New York Post’s Page Six. Arguments for the case have yet to be scheduled.
