Hip hop star Lizzo has asked Hilary Duff for a role in the Lizzie Mcguire TV revamp, and the So Yesterday singer is game.
The stars exchanged tweets over the weekend after it was announced Duff’s hit TV show would be returning as part of Disney’s new Disney+ streaming site.
Lizzo tweeted a link to the announcement and wrote: “Lemme get a cameo.”
Duff responded: “Ummmmm duh! Hired! Animated Lizzie might explode!” making it clear she’s a big fan and adding: “Saw you in Brooklyn. DEAD.”
The thrilled Truth Hurts hitmaker fired back: “It’s official #LizzoMcGuire.”
Lizzo, who will appear in Jennifer Lopez’s new heist movie Hustlers, has also been campaigning for the role of villain Ursula in Disney’s upcoming live-action The Little Mermaid, but it’s beginning to look as if Melissa McCarthy has snagged that part.
Duff starred in the original Lizzie McGuire series from 2001 to 2004. The new series was announced at Disney’s D23 Expo in California on Friday (August 23, 2019).
