The death of former Love Island star Sophie Gradon is not being treated as suspicious, police have confirmed.
The 32-year-old was found dead at an address in Northumberland on Wednesday (20June18) evening, with police confirming she had already passed away by the time they arrived.
“At about 8.27pm yesterday (June 20) police attended a property in Medburn, Ponteland, where sadly a 32-year-old woman was found deceased,” a spokesperson for Northumbria Police shared in a statement to The Mirror.
“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death. A report will now be prepared for the coroner.”
The reality star’s heartbroken boyfriend Aaron Armstrong confirmed the news of her passing in a Facebook post on Thursday.
“I will never forget that smile I love you so so much baby your my world forever ever and always,” he wrote alongside a picture of the happy couple smiling.
The former Miss Great Britain appeared on the 2016 series of ITV2’s Love Island where she found love with Welsh hunk Thomas Powell and later, glamour model Katie Salmon in the dating show’s first-ever bisexual coupling.
Tributes flooded in for the Newcastle native on social media, with Love Island co-star Olivia Buckland tweeting: ‘Awful awful news this morning. I am gutted. I am so sorry the world failed you. You were such an intricate, creative, intelligent soul. Words fail me.”
Geordie Shore star Holly Hagan added: “You were only helping me battle the Twitter trolls yesterday. Rest in peace beautiful.”
The model, who claimed she “sold her soul to reality TV”, was known to have a history of mental illness and had been vocal about her struggles on social media.
In September (17), Sophie told her Twitter followers: ‘Hi guys, no not dead just battling a little bit of depression. I’ll come back I promise x.”
