Macklemore no longer sporting ‘Nazi’ hairstyle

Rapper Macklemore has assured fans he won’t be rocking the hairstyle that white supremacists have popularised over the years any more following an online outcry.
The Same Love hitmaker, who has been an advocate for equality and tolerance for years, suddenly found himself at the centre of a new race drama this week (beg14Aug17), following the violence that broke out at a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia over the weekend (12-13Aug17).
Fans and critics alike started to question his choice of hairstyle – because it’s similar to the one sported by Adolf Hitler’s Nazi Youth in the 1930s and 1940s and modern day neo-Nazis.
One follower wrote: “macklemore hair seems to be the chosen haircut of the racists now. i call on @macklemore to get online and denounce his own haircut.”
The rapper took the comment seriously and jumped on Twitter to respond, stating: “Got rid of it over a year ago.”
One counter-protester was killed and many others injured during the white supremacy rally in Charlottesville, when a neo-Nazi sympathiser drove his car into a crowd of people.
