The film follows the story of female factory workers fighting for equal pay in the 1960s and stars Sally Hawkins, Miranda Richardson and Rosamund Pike.
Made in Dagenham won the top honour at the festival in Dinard, France on Sunday (10Oct10), sharing the Golden Hitchcock with Treacle Jr, about a man who leaves his family to live on the streets.
The movie also landed the Silver Hitchcock audience award, while Stuart Hazeldine’s tense thriller Exam won the Bronze Hitchcock prize.
Mr. Nice, which stars Rhys Ifans as famed marijuana smuggler Howard Marks, won the Kodak prize for cinematography.
The festival jury was led by stars including Sienna Miller and The Diving Bell and the Butterfly star Anne Consigny.
