Madonna and Idris Elba have sparked rumors of a romance after they were spotted kissing following the actor’s debut kickboxing fight.
The 44-year-old Luther star participated in his first kickboxing fight for his new TV show Idris Elba: Fighter, and the Material Girl hitmaker documented the event from backstage on social media.
The mother-of-four shared clips from the build-up to Idris’ debut at York Hall in London on Snapchat, posting footage of the pair sparring. “I kicked his butt,” she captioned a shot of them laying on the floor together.
Madonna later posted a clip from the fight on Snapchat, excitedly writing alongside it, “Idris Elba Smashes it at York Hall!” She then posted a snap of the actor after he won his fight with the caption, “K.O. in 1 min 55, go Idris!”
The 58-year-old singer was then spotted heading to a party at London’s M Restaurant to celebrate the actor’s win, where the pair were allegedly seen kissing passionately.
A source told The Sun newspaper, “There was nothing subtle about it, no attempt to hide. It was very blatant. They were at the party for about an hour, they would dance, go off to smooch, then mingle a bit more.”
Madonna and Idris have reportedly been friends for years, with the actor-turned-DJ supporting the singer for the German shows of her Rebel Hearts Tour last year (15).
Idris took part in the fight as part of his Discovery documentary series Idris Elba: Fighter, which follows him undertaking the physically and mentally demanding task of training to become a professional kickboxer. The show is due to air next year (17).
