Maisie Williams Teases ‘Game Of Thrones’ Fans: “Prepare Yourselves”

Actress Maisie Williams has urged Game of Thrones fans to brace themselves after reading the explosive script for the next season of the show.

The 19-year-old, who plays orphan-turned-assassin Arya Stark in the hit fantasy series, took to social media to voice her excitement for the penultimate season.

“Just finished reading season 7…,” Maisie wrote on Twitter on Monday (22Aug16). “s**t gets REAL… I’d start preparing yourselves now… scratch that, nothing will prepare you for this… holy BALLS.”

Season seven is set to see her character Arya Stark return to the city of Westeros to reunite with what is left of the Stark family, after a long, protracted storyline in season six, which saw her being trained as an assassin.

There are only 13 episodes of the hit fantasy drama left, with season seven expected to consist of just seven episodes, as opposed to the usual 10.

Kit Harington, who plays Arya’s brother Jon Snow, recently told The Hollywood Reporter the upcoming season would focus on the threat of the White Walkers, the killer zombies which roam the land beyond The Wall.

“I think it’s going to get very bleak before if there is a happy ending. If there’s any sort of win or heroic moment for Jon and everyone else. I think it’s going to get very dark before it gets better,” he explained.

“I think what we might see this season is those White Walkers and that Army of the Dead really come into force. So that’s going to be exciting to see. I don’t know what it means. I think with the whole ‘winter is finally here’ business, it means everyone is going to have a really bad time.”

Game of Thrones will return to U.S. and U.K. screens next summer (17).
