Man arrested following stabbing at Arizona music festival

A man has been arrested after allegedly stabbing a concert-goer at the Country Thunder Festival in Arizona over the weekend (13-14Apr13). Thousands of fans turned out to watch performances by Brantley Gilbert, Toby Keith and Lady Antebellum at the four-day event in Phoenix, but the celebration turned to tragedy on Saturday (13Apr13) when a 36-year-old man was stabbed in the early hours of the morning.
The victim, whose name has not yet been released, was airlifted to the Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center, where he remains in critical condition after suffering wounds to his upper back and rib cage.
Now suspect Austin Hansen has been taken into custody and booked at the Pinal County Adult Detention Center on charges of aggravated assault and disorderly conduct, according to local news site ABC15.com.
Meanwhile, event organiser Brian Andrews has released a statement about the incident, which reads, “Our primary concern is always the safety and experience of our patrons, music fans and the general public. We don’t feel the actions of one person should overshadow four amazing days and nights of events.”
