Man sues over image use in The Next Three Days

Bilal Ahmed maintains his appearance in the 2010 crime drama and its trailer has hampered his future job prospects because he is allegedly portrayed as a criminal.

The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court last week (ends06Nov11), claims he is “depicted as a wanted fugitive along with other known or alleged terrorists or fugitives, including Osama bin Laden”.

The complaint then states, “Plaintiff is not, or at the time of the film’s release was, a wanted fugitive, but is currently working and living in Oregon.”

According to TheWrap.com, Ahmed is suing Lionsgate Entertainment for $250,000 (£156,000) in damages, along with $51,000 (£32,000), which is his estimate of .01 per cent of the film’s takings.
