Maren Morris determined to keep things simple at country wedding

Country star Maren Morris is determined to keep her 2018 wedding as simple as possible.
The My Church singer will exchange vows with musician Ryan Hurd later this year and she reveals she’s planning a real down-to-earth party to ring in her life as a wife.
“Ryan and I are given attention all the time, and I feel like it’s a year of us being celebrated because we make music and we had really incredible years,” she tells radio show Taste of Country Nights. “I just want it (the wedding) to feel like us, the people, and not us, the artists. We’re gonna have some tequila, my dog’s gonna be there…
“Food trucks would be awesome. For someone who’s getting married, I know that sounds weird, but I want it to feel like a party. I don’t want it to be a stuffy, sit-down, plated dinner. No disrespect to people who like that.”
Maren, who will hit the road with One Direction star Niall Horan for his world tour this year, admits she hasn’t quite got a handle on all the wedding planning yet – but she has a good idea about the cake she wants served at the reception.
“I’m not a cake person (but) I love tiramisu, so I might make a tiramisu cake,” she laughs, adding. “(I’d like) oysters (and) things that we like to do. And have all of our close friends and family there to celebrate with us.”
And she also has plans to walk down the aisle in a replica of the dress her mum wore when she exchanged vows in 1989.
“She was a bada** and had this short wedding dress, so I sent it to this designer that I love,” Morris recently explained to People magazine. “I was like, ‘If we can do a modern version of my mom’s wedding dress, just dreaming something up, really cool, but still throwback with her vibe, I would love to make that happen’… I know it’ll be perfect.”
