Margot Robbie: ‘Acting is the least glamorous job’

Margot Robbie has labeled acting one of the least glamorous jobs when compared to her stylish friends who work in offices.

Margot started her career on soap opera Neighbours in her native Australia, but after being cast in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street, the actress has become a Hollywood A-lister.

Her latest role in I, Tonya earned Margot her first Oscar nomination, and despite spending the last two months getting dolled up for awards ceremonies, Margot insists acting is not a glam profession.

“Acting is the least glamorous job,” she stated to British newspaper Metro. “I feel like my friends who work in offices have more glamorous jobs. They do their make-up, put on a tailored skirt and blouse and go to work.

“I go to work in my pajamas and my Ugg boots and we are pretty much on a glorified construction site, sitting in the dirt on plastic chairs using Portaloos and eating fried food. That’s what acting actually is. Then a handful of times in a year you get to put on a designer dress and get glammed up.”

Margot will once again don a designer dress for the upcoming Oscars on 4 March (18). So far this awards season, she’s worn gowns by Givenchy, Miu Miu and Gucci.

As well as wearing high-end dresses on the red carpet, Margot also gets to dress up when she’s at work. One of her most famous looks was the hotpants and baseball jacket she wore as Harley Quinn, with fans all over the world copying the look following the release of DC movie Suicide Squad in 2016.
“I had friends who dressed up as Harley Quinn. I thought they were taking the p**s,” she laughed.
“What got me really excited was when men started dressing up like her.”
