Marianne Faithfull hospitalised

Singer Marianne Faithfull is recovering in a Greek hospital after falling and breaking her hip while holidaying on the island of Rhodes, according to reports. A post on the As Tears Go By star’s Facebook.com page details her condition, revealing the incident took place on Friday (30May14).
It reads: “Alexandros Pittas, the orthopedic surgeon that operated on Marianne said today (Monday) that she underwent a successful surgery, and ‘Tomorrow, we will try to help her get up and we assess she needs to stay in hospital for about a week’.
“I’m sure all Marianne’s fans would like to send their love and wish her a speedy recovery.”
The 67 year old, who has a new album scheduled for release in September (14), was forced to cancel four concerts last year (13) when she fractured her sacrum.
