Marilyn Manson collapses on stage during Houston gig

Marilyn Manson collapsed on stage during his gig in Houston, Texas on Saturday (18Aug18).
The shock rocker cut his performance at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion short after collapsing towards the end of his version of Eurythmics song Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).

According to reporters at The Houston Press, he did get back to his feet to play one more song, Antichrist Superstar, but then walked offstage and did not return.

During the aborted gig, Marilyn, real name Brian Warner, reportedly told concertgoers he was suffering from “heat poisoning”.

He later thanked fans for understanding why he had to shorten the set, which was part of his and Rob Zombie’s Twins of Evil – The Second Coming Tour.

“Thanks Houston for being understanding,” the 49-year-old tweeted. “I ended up in doctor’s care, but I gave it my best and you guys were amazing.”

Rob also informed fans his co-headliner was feeling unwell when he failed to appear alongside him for a cover version of The BeatlesHelter Skelter.

“My dear friend Mr. Manson is feeling under the weather,” the musician and filmmaker told the crowd. “He’s probably on the bus feeling like c**p. I need a partner for the next song so let’s sing it really loud and make him feel better.”

Marilyn and Rob’s tour has been not gone entirely to plan, as illness forced The Beautiful People singer to drop out of a date last month, while a recent seafront gig in Jones Beach State Park, New York was cancelled due to torrential rain.

The goth icon was also forced to pull out of a string of dates on his own solo trek last year after he broke his leg when a stage prop fell on him.
