Mark Hart dropped from Crowded House

Crowded House rocker Mark Hart has claimed frontman Neil Finn has dropped him from the group.
The Weather with You hitmakers recently announced they would reunite following a 2016 hiatus to play Australia’s Bluesfest next year (20), but Hart, a multi-instrumentalist who has performed with the band since 1993, will not be joining them.
In a post on Twitter, the American musician wrote that Finn had told him he was no longer needed in the group.
“Hello All, I feel it’s time to let you all know that Neil has informed me that I will not be a part of the band’s new lineup,” he tweeted. “Being a part of Crowded House for 30 years was a pleasure and a privilege. I wish them well and hope you all enjoy the new band. Best to you all, Mark.”
Speaking on his Fangradio podcast, Finn, who has been touring as a new member of Fleetwood Mac following Lindsey Buckingham’s departure, denied Hart’s departure from the group was acrimonious.
“Some of you are distressed about the news that Mark Hart won’t be joining us for… that show,” he said. “I know he announced on one of the social medias today that he will not be joining us and that’s true… I can only say to that that I love Mark dearly as a friend, as a contributor and a collaborator and I have nothing but respect and goodwill towards Mark.”
Crowded House will perform at Bluesfest in Byron Bay on 12 April. Further reunion dates are yet to be announced.
