“The BMI Champion Award honors (Ronson’s) diverse artistic accomplishments which have left a lasting impression on fans around the world, and recognizes his dedication to making the world a better place through his humanitarian efforts.”

The producer, who is currently teaming up with DJ Diplo to form duo Silk City, has helped raise money and awareness for Hope and Homes for Children, is patron of The Amy Winehouse Foundation, named after his late collaborator, and recently became a mentor for Turnaround Arts, a project run by officials at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, which gives arts education to low-performing schools.

Ronson will receive the award on 8 May (18) at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel in Los Angeles.
