Mark Ruffalo accidentally revealed plot details from his new film Thor: Ragnarok after failing to turn off his phone’s Instagram app at the film’s premiere.

The star, who plays the Incredible Hulk in the movie, was live streaming the introduction to the screening in Los Angeles on Tuesday (10Oct17) on the photo and video sharing platform.

Before the movie began, Mark placed his phone in his pocket but did not end the Instagram live stream, meaning fans could hear audio from the film and audience members, including the actor, laughing.

According to Instagram users, the stream continued for around 15 minutes after the movie started before it was cut off. It is not clear whether Mark turned off the app on his phone or the feed was taken down by studio bosses.

Ordinary fans attending the premiere were asked to hand their phones over to security staff before entering L.A.’s El Capitan Theatre.

Mark and Jeff were joined by the many of the film’s star-studded cast at the premiere, including Thor actor Chris Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Cate Blanchett, and Tom Hiddleston.

Outside the screening Mark, who walked the red carpet with his wife Sunrise Coigney, commented on the allegations of sexual harassment and assault multiple women, including the actresses Angelina Jolie and Gwyneth Paltrow, have made against movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.

Mark hopes that the scandal, which broke last week after a report published by editors at The New York Times, will help end bad behavior in the film industry.

“I hope that this is the beginning of the end of this stuff,” Mark told Entertainment Tonight. “I hope the next time a producer or someone in power thinks they’re gonna, you know, be abusive, they think twice.”
