Mark Strong was relieved by TV series cancellation

British actor Mark Strong was relieved when he learned his TV series Low Winter Sun had been cancelled after just one series. The show, which was adapted from the British series of the same name, was plagued by low ratings when it aired in the U.S. last year (13) and was subsequently axed after only 10 episodes.
However, Sherlock Holmes actor Strong, who spent five months filming the detective drama in Detroit, Michigan, was pleased by the news because it meant he could spend more time with his children, Gabriel, nine and Roman, six.
He tells Britain’s Telegraph magazine, “I thoroughly enjoyed it, I thought it was a great series, but I heaved a sigh of relief when it wasn’t picked up (for another series). Because I could have ended up being there for the next five years, for five months of every year, and I had this horrific realisation I would miss all that time with my boys growing up. It’s important to me that I don’t spend too much time away from the family.”
