Matt Smith celebrates 30th birthday on Doctor Who set

The star reached the milestone on Sunday (28Oct12), and the cast and crew donned masks featuring the actor’s face to spook him as he arrived to shoot scenes.

Smith was then presented with a cake in the shape of the iconic character’s time-travelling Tardis.

The celebration was caught on camera and footage of the event was uploaded to the BBC’s website.

The birthday boy told his pals, “Let’s have some cake! This is like the best present ever, thank you. Wow.”
