Meat Loaf Collapses During London Concert

Rock star Meat Loaf crumpled on stage Monday night during a performance at London’s Wembley Arena and was taken to a nearby hospital, Reuters reports.

The 56-year-old singer “collapsed from exhaustion due to a prolonged viral infection. It is not life-threatening,” his record company’s spokesman told Reuters.

After falling ill, Meat Loaf, best known for his ’70s megahit “Bat out of Hell,” tried to perform another song but was not able to manage it. On the advice of the attending paramedics, he decided to go to the nearest hospital.
