Meek Mill celebrates at block party as he opens new basketball court

Meek Mill was the guest of honour at a block party celebrating the opening of basketball courts he has helped refurbish in his home town.
The rapper teamed with sports giant Puma, JAY-Z’s Roc Nation, and the Philadelphia Parks & Recreation Department to refurbish the Strawberry Mansion Legacy Courts in East Fairmount Park in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and on Saturday (17Aug19), the Going Bad hitmaker returned to his childhood neighbourhood with his sons, Khazief Hudgins, 13, and eight-year-old Rihmeek Williams, along with his mother, to celebrate the opening of the new sports facility.
The court has been painted blue and features the ‘Dream Chasers’ logo – referencing Meek’s record label.
During the ribbon-cutting ceremony, Meek, real name Robert Rihmeek Williams, briefly spoke about what the basketball court in East Fairmount Park meant to him when he was a young boy, growing up in north Philadelphia, and stressed the importance of giving back to his community.
“Let’s keep this short. It’s hot out here,” he joked, before ending his speech, according to TMZ.com.
