‘Meet the Parents’ Again

Screenwriter Jim Herzfeld of “Meet the Parents” fame has got his work cut out for him.

Although the comedy he cowrote with John Hamburg is still raking in the bucks at theaters (it opened with $28.6 million, a record for October), he’s already busy working on a sequel.

But this time, he’s writing solo.

The film’s partners, Universal and DreamWorks, inked the$1.1 million deal with Herzfeld after “Parents” exceeded their expectations at the box office, Daily Variety reports.

Director Jay Roach will supervise the sequel, but there is no word yet if he’ll helm the second installment.
