Meghan Trainor surprises pal Lauren Alaina with party appearance

Meghan Trainor reduced her pop pal Lauren Alaina to tears on Wednesday (24May17) by making a surprise appearance at a party to celebrate the success of her sophomore album.
Back in 2012, the American Idol star recruited a then-unknown Meghan to help write her song Road Less Travelled, the titular track for her second album, which was released earlier this year (17).
The tune recently hit the top of the U.S. Billboard Country Airplay chart, and Lauren celebrated the news with a club bash in Nashville, Tennessee.
However, she had no idea Meghan, who now lives in Los Angeles, would be flying in to attend the party, prompting Lauren to break down as she embraced the All About That Bass hitmaker.
Meghan shared footage of the onesie-themed celebration with her fans on Instagram on Thursday (25May17), and gushed about her pal in the caption.
“Best surprise I’ve ever accomplished,” she wrote. “I love you so much Lauren, I am so beyond proud of your first NUMBER 1 #roadlesstraveled you are my super star and my good friend and I was honored to stand next to you on stage today in our onesies. You worked your butt off and deserve all of this and more.”
