U.S. First Lady Melania Trump is recovering in hospital after undergoing surgery on her kidney.
White House officials reveal the former model was treated for a “benign kidney condition” at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland on Monday morning (14May18).
Further details about why she required the operation have yet to be revealed, but the procedure was a success and she is expected to remain under doctors’ care for the rest of the week, according to her communications director, Stephanie Grisham.
Her husband, President Donald Trump, remained at the White House in Washington, D.C. during Melania’s surgery.
