Melissa Auf Der Maur teases Hole reunion

Rocker Melissa Auf Der Maur has teased a Hole reunion, insisting the time is right to “reactivate the band”.
Auf Der Maur, who played bass in Courtney Love’s group from 1994 to 1999, reveals the bandmates recently hooked up and there may be a full reunion on the cards.
“I was in Los Angeles two weeks ago and had breakfast with Eric (Erlandson), coffee with Courtney and dinner with Patty (Schemel),” she told the new issue of German magazine Visions. “I told them of our first encounter at the airport in Seattle and the feelings I had after our tribute event (for Love at Basilica Hudson in New York last year).
“We’ve all grown older, have become more gentle, and I have the feeling that now would be the right point in time to reactivate the band once again. We did a few little gigs over the years but nothing substantial, which by the way I am quite happy about to be honest.”
She added, “Now it’s been exactly 20 years since I’ve left the band, and I want a piece of our glory back. Hole was a great band, and it’s important to remember them properly.”
And Melissa hopes a comeback could help Courtney Love reclaim her reputation as one of the 1990s’ greatest songwriters – and not just Kurt Cobain’s widow.
“Kurt Cobain may be the greatest rock icon of his generation, but his early demise should not overshadow Courtney’s accomplishments,” the bassist explained. “She deserves more respect.”
