Melissa McCarthy will be honored with the inaugural People’s Icon award at the E! People’s Choice Awards this weekend (11Nov18).
The Bridesmaids star will be feted for her TV and film career at the prizegiving, held at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, California on Sunday.
“Melissa McCarthy is a multi-talented actor, writer, producer and director and who has starred in some of the most iconic movies and television shows of the past decade,” Jen Neal, executive producer of live events and executive vice president of marketing at E!, says. “She is beloved by the people, and we couldn’t think of anyone more fitting or deserving to honour as the People’s Icon of 2018.”
McCarthy has previously won four People’s Choice Awards in the Comedic Movie Actress and Comedic TV Actress categories.
