Meryl Streep is to front a hard-hitting new movie which movie mogul Harvey Weinstein hopes will make members of America’s National Rifle Association (NRA) “wish they weren’t alive”. The film producer leaked details of the project during a recent chat with radio shock jock Howard Stern, revealing the movie has a title, The Senator’s Wife, and a star but no screenwriter or director.
He told Stern, “We’re going to take this (gun) issue head on, and they’re going to wish they weren’t alive after I’m done with them. It’s going to be, like, crash and burn.”
He added, “I don’t think we need guns in this country, and I hate it, and I think the NRA is a disaster area.”
