Director Michael Bay relied on his pet dog for moral support during an emotional ceremony in Hollywood on Tuesday (23May17).

The Transformers filmmaker became the 305th showbusiness icon to place his hands and feet in wet cement outside the TCL Chinese Theater and his pooch Rebel was on hand to keep him focused during the tear-jerking celebration.

“It brings me back to my childhood, and as a kid putting my little hands in the old prints,” Bay told Fox News during the ceremony. “It’s a great honor.

“This is where I wanted to become a director. It’s not a made-up story. It’s 100 per cent real, emotional, so it does create a full circle in my career. It does make you tear up in a way when you start thinking about your career. It’s a great humbling honour.”

Several A-listers were also in attendance for the event, including Anthony Hopkins, Jerry Bruckheimer, and Josh Duhamel, who credited Bay for helping launch his film career by casting him in 2007 blockbuster Transformers.

“I do really have a great relationship with Michael,” Duhamel smiled as he addressed the crowd during the heartwarming ceremony. “I love and respect the guy so much. He has changed my career. He has changed our life, put me on the world stage with his movies, and I’m very grateful for that.”

Bay’s hands and feet ceremony comes one week after his director colleague Ridley Scott became the 304th entertainer to be memorialized at the TCL Chinese Theatre on 17 May (17).

Michael’s honor came less than a month before the release of his fifth Transformers movie, The Last Knight, which will hit cinemas on 21 June (17).
