Michael Caine feted at Munich International Film Festival

British acting legend Sir Michael Caine was feted for his lengthy career when he was handed a lifetime achievement honour at the Munich International Film Festival in Germany on Monday (01Jul13). The Dark Knight star was presented with the CineMerit Award by director Sherry Horman, while bosses at the festival also unveiled a retrospective of his work.
Five of Caine’s movies, including The Man Who Would Be King and Get Carter, will be screened over the course of the nine-day event, which ends on 6 July (13).
On receiving his award, the Oscar-winner joked about his lengthy career, saying “I think I’ve been in 150 films, with substantial parts in 90 I can remember.”
Caine follows in the footsteps of John Malkovich and Julie Christie who are past recipients of the prestigious award.
