Actor Michael Rapaport has come under fire after expressing support for Jeffrey Tambor after he quit show Transparent following allegations of his sexual misconduct.
The 47-year-old, most famous for his roles in TV shows such as Friends and My Name Is Earl and movies Hitch and The 6th Day, took to Twitter following the news that Tambor had stepped away from his hit TV show after being accused of sexual harassment by two members of the program team.
Tambor has strenuously denied all the claims against him.
Sharing a link to a story about Tambor’s departure, Rapaport tweeted: “How you gonna have a show called Transparent without the Transparent. I’m with #Tambor.”

His followers were divided by Rapaport’s remark, with one writing: “It’s not about the show. Do you support harassment? Let me know now so I can unfollow.”
“Nope I don’t & I don’t support unproven claims of harassment either,” the actor hit back.
Another person wrote: “I’m disappointed by your stance. Sexual assault is not new, but we’re in an age now where people are realizing how normalized our society has made these actions. It’s f**ked. Please rethink and be on the right side of this and all instances of a person being victimized.”
Unwilling to accept the criticism, Rapaport responded: “Your (sic) assuming he’s guilty of anything. He just said he didn’t do s**t.”

He then followed up his original tweet with another message which read: “I 500 percent don’t support sexual harassment & I 500 per cent don’t support unproven sexual harassment. People taking sides sight unseen. Scarlet lettering Motherf**kers. Taking sides about accusations by people they will never make eye contact with or look up & fact check. GTFOH (Get the f**k out of here).”
Rapaport concluded his Twitter rant by sharing a video of a man who was falsely accused of rape and jailed for 45 years before being acquitted.
