Shamed American football star Michael Vick married his fiancee at a high-security wedding ceremony in Miami Beach, Florida over the weekend (30Jun-01Jul12).
The sportsman proposed to fashion designer Kijafa Frink in 2007, shortly before checking into prison to serve a 23-month sentence on dog fighting charges.
The couple tied the knot at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach hotel on Saturday (30Jun12) and security was high with guests forced to don wristbands to gain entrance to the ceremony in the resort’s private ballroom. The event was also patrolled by five police officers, according to New York Post gossip column Page Six.
The festivities continued on Sunday (01Jul12) when Vick and his new wife hosted a dinner for close friends and family at the Prime 112 restaurant in South Beach.
A source tells the publication, “He seemed to be the happiest person there, bouncing around his table. He and his new wife, who at times was sitting on his lap, kissed a bunch of times. He was overheard saying how he felt lucky and blessed and was excited for this new part of his life.”
