Miley Cyrus smokes a joint at MTV EMA ceremony

Miley Cyrus courted controversy once again at the Mtv Europe Music Awards on Sunday (10Nov13) when she appeared to light and smoke a joint while accepting an award. Cyrus was up to her headline-grabbing tricks at the event in Amsterdam, Holland, spanking and groping a little person during a performance of We Can’t Stop and showing up on the red carpet wearing a barely-there, backless mini-dress featuring the faces of slain rap rivals Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur – but her most shocking moment came as she accepted the Best Video prize for Wrecking Ball.
She told the audience the award wouldn’t fit in her purse before producing what appeared to be a half smoked joint and lighting it.
She then said, “Thank you guys very much. Good night everybody, thank you, EMAs thank you for having me I love you guys so much” before walking offstage.
Marijuana is legal in Amsterdam and Cyrus was spotted hanging out in one of the city’s top cannabis cafes with model Cara Delevingne on Friday (08Nov18).
The 20 year old has made no secret of her love for the mellow drug and recently told Australia’s Style magazine that she prefers smoking weed to drinking.
She said, “When I smoke, I don’t get that sick feeling I get when I drink, or that anger rising up.”
