Miley Cyrus unveils debut sneaker collection for Converse

Miley Cyrus has finally unveiled her debut sneaker collection for Converse.

The Wrecking Ball hitmaker has been teasing her collaboration with the American footwear company for several months and finally dropped the 43-piece line at an event held in Los Angeles on Tuesday night (01May18).

Speaking about the range, Miley explained that the playful sneakers were all about embracing fun.
“I definitely had my fans in mind and in my heart when I was creating,” she said in a statement. “I put what they love about me and what I love about them into the design.”

The Converse x Miley Cyrus line includes a Chuck Taylor All Star style in white canvas with silver glitter detail and matching laces, a classic Chuck Taylor high-top in white canvas with pink glitter on the sole, and a line of sneakers featuring paisley trim – a nod to her country roots.

Each pair is stamped with a smiley face featuring Miley’s initials, with the branding evoking the logo for her Happy Hippie Foundation, a nonprofit organisation that focuses on youth homelessness, the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer (LGBTQ) community, and other vulnerable populations.

And the star also shared that it was very important to her that her designs were unisex and emphasised inclusivity.

“No age, no gender, no sex – I wanted everyone to feel included,” the 25-year-old smiled. “I’ve always identified with Converse, because the brand appeals (to) and represents so many different cultures and walks of life. And they’re accessible.”

Miley’s shoe designs retail from $65 – $95 while a range of apparel, including tracksuits, baseball caps, hoodies, socks and backpacks are priced between $22 to $100.

Items are available to purchase from Converse’s website and at select retailers from Wednesday.
