“Millionaire” host questioned in Britain

The TV host of the U.K.’s version of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire has been questioned by police as part of their investigation into accusations that a winner of the £1-million ($1.42-million) top prize may have cheated.

The London Daily Sun reported Friday that Chris Tarrant was interviewed by Scotland Yard secial inquiry detectives at the station’s Leicester Square headquarters.

Early reports said that the winner, Army Major Charles Ingram, had received help from a confederate coughing in the audience. But the Sun reported that Tarrant has received letters describing how Ingram may have been involved in a more “elaborate scam.”
