Miranda Kerr and Karlie Kloss have baffled fans by insisting they are not models, despite making millions posing for fashion shoots. The stunners, two of the world’s highest-earning supermodels, claim they see themselves as businesswomen and athletes rather than catwalk queens.

Kerr, who is the face of high-profile campaigns for the brands including H&M, Reebok, and Wonderbra, tells The Edit, “From my first photoshoot at 14, I never saw myself as a model. If someone asks me what I do, I say, ‘I have my own skincare line.’ I don’t define myself as a model.”

Victoria’s Secret beauty Kloss adds in a separate interview with intothegloss.com, “I think that’s why I treat myself more as an athlete than just a model. But I’m not a professional athlete, I’m not a professional dancer, I’m not a professional anything; I have never considered modeling an actual job title. I have yet to determine what my job actually is but, yeah, modeling is a fun and funny gig.”
