Miranda Lambert donates thousands to animal shelter

Miranda Lambert has offered her support to a small animal shelter in the U.S.
According to editors at TMZ.com, the country star gifted “a few thousand dollars” to Scituate Animal Shelter in Plymouth County, Massachusetts, which has enabled the organisation to waive adoption fees of between $100 (£80) to $250 (£199) on animals that they re-home.
The House That Built Me hitmaker reached out to the shelter through her MuttNation Foundation – a nonprofit the Grammy winner co-founded with her mother 10 years ago to promote the adoption of shelter animals. It also donates money and other resources to shelters throughout the country.
This is the first donation the star has sent to Scituate, and executive director Maryann Regan revealed it’s already had an impact. Maryann explained that during summer time the shelter is lucky if it can get two animals adopted each day, but since Miranda’s boost the adoption rate has tripled.
The shelter is waiving adoption fees through next week (ends21Jul19).
