Missing Canadian filmmaker’s body found in Cambodia

Police in Cambodia believe they have found the body of a Canadian filmmaker who went missing in the country more than two months ago.

Director Dave Walker, 58, had been living in the city of Siem Reap for two years before he disappeared on 14 February (14). The remains of a white male, whose clothing matched the description of Walker’s last known appearance, was found in woods near Cambodia’s famous Angkor Wat temple on Wednesday night (30Apr14).

Authorities are awaiting the results of DNA tests to confirm Walker’s identity, but his Animist Farm Films business partner, Sonny Chhoun, is convinced the remains are of his missing friend. A cause of death has yet to be determined. Investigators did not find any initial signs of foul play and believe the Edmonton native may have passed away from natural causes.
