“#Fact no1 knew I was in the hospital the night before I had to perform at the SuperBowl & when I heard the beginning of Get Ya Freak On playing I was SO SHOOK (nervous face emoji) I said Lord I can’t turn back now God pulled me through I will NEVER forget this night & I’m 4ever HUMBLED (sic),” she wrote, followed by praying and love heart emojis.
She didn’t specify why she was in hospital. However, she was diagnosed with autoimmune illness Graves‘ disease in 2008. She told People in 2011 that she no longer needed medication to manage the condition, which affects the thyroid.
“I’ve been off medication for about a year and I’m completely managing the condition through diet and exercise,” she said.
During her appearance, Missy performed a medley of Get Ur Freak On and Work It before going into Lose Control. The 2015 mini-concert was watched by 118.5 million viewers, making it the most-watched Halftime Show of all time.
