Retired U.S. Olympian Misty May-Treanor and her baseball player husband Matt Treanor have become first-time parents. The former beach volleyball star, 36, gave birth to daughter Malia last week (ends06Jun14).
She announced the news on her Facebook.com page on Monday (09Jun14) by sharing a sweet photo of the newborn sleeping in her father’s arms.
In the accompanying caption, the new mum writes, “We were so blessed to welcome this little lady in to the world June 3… Let the adventures begin!!!!”
May-Treanor quit the sport after winning her third consecutive gold at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London with her partner Kerri Walsh Jennings.
Treanor is a catcher for the Cleveland Indians.
The couple wed in 2004.
