Moana Star Bashed on the Head During Oscars Performance

Moana star Auli’i Cravalho is still reeling from her performance at the Oscars last month (Feb17), which left her with a nasty head injury.

The young Hawaiian was bashed on the head by a flag-waving dancer in rehearsals and couldn’t believe her bad luck when it happened again during the actual ceremony, as she sang the nominated Best Song How Far I’ll Go.

“It was during the exact same part,” she explains. “That person (who bonked her on the head) is forever holding his peace, that’s for sure.

“I think I had that ‘the show must go on’ ingrained in my mentality.”
