Molly Sims battled thyroid issue during first pregnancy

Molly Sims asks questions about her health after battling an unknown thyroid issue during her first pregnancy.
The Yes Man star and her producer husband Scott Stuber are already parents to four-year-old son Brooks Alan and 16-month-old daughter Scarlett May, and last month (Aug16) they announced they will welcome a new baby later this year (16).
During her first pregnancy, Molly gained 85 pounds and was surprised when she wasn’t diagnosed with thyroid issues until after she gave birth and now she wants to make sure she is diligent about her health during this pregnancy.
“No one tells you what’s going to happen,” she said during a recent People’s Mom Talk video series appearance. “With my first pregnancy, I ended up gaining 85 pounds and had a bad thyroid problem that no one diagnosed throughout the whole pregnancy until four months later,” she said.
“Sometimes, deep down, when you’re eating that Sweet Lady Jane (cake) on the 405, you think, ‘It’ll come off when I have the baby’,” she continued.
Molly has previously spoken about her changing body, admitting she is still getting used to it.
“With my first baby, Brooks, I gained 84 pounds…” she said in a video for her website. “It took me almost 15, 16 months to lose it. With Scarlett, I went on medication and I didn’t gain as much, but I was just about to reach my goal weight – the Kardashian goal weight. The weight where you feel, ‘Oh my God, my stomach looks good’.”
“I really miss my waist,” she joked. “(I don’t have) a Sports Illustrated waist any longer.”
