HOLLYWOOD, July 10, 2000 -– Will she or won’t she? And with whom? One day after a British tabloid announced that Britney Spears had accepted a marriage proposal from ‘N Sync’s Justin Timberlake (yeah, like we thought that one was true), another (insert sarcasm here) reliable source from the United Kingdom is trying to one-up the competition.
Britain’s Sun newspaper says today, in a big front-page story, that Spears is interested in marrying the heir to Britain’s throne, young Prince William. Spears and the Prince are both 18.
“Marry Prince William? I would love that,” Spears said, according to the tabloid. “After all, who wouldn’t want to be a princess?”
They’ve never met, but “I wrote to him and sent him some signed photographs. One of his people wrote back and thanked me for them,” Spears said. (Again, this is according to the tabs, mind you.)
